Touchcode is a patent protected conductive ink technology, printed under your graphic content and enabling your product to provide a digital interaction. Touchcode is printed directly to packaging, cards, labels and other objects. When your Touchcode enabled print comes in contact with a capacitive multi touch screen (such as a smartphone or tablet) it can now launch an interactive digital experience. Let Touchcode make your printed materials connect.
A pattern is selected and associated with the digital content. As the product comes in contact with your mobile device, the pattern is recognized, decoded, and the content now becomes available. An app or website will need to be enabled with the Touchcode software, and once enabled, the content can be changed on demand.

Touchcode gives physical products added digital value. Think of Touchcode as a key to unlock any digital content desired - the applications are endless. Popular past use cases have been:

  • Product verification/authentication
  • Collectability and gaming
  • Loyalty/couponing programs
  • Discount codes, exclusive promos
  • Mass marketing/product deep dives
  • In-store experiences, end cap displays
Touchcode is a embedded technology that is all managed in the print process. Making this technology easy to incorporate in existing supply chains, without the need for extensive training or new equipment, and can be produced on traditional printing presses. Less expensive than RFID or NFC and 100% safe and recyclable. No electronic waste, small parts issues or added assembly. More attractive and secure than QR code which is visible to the consumer and can be easily reproduced.
Touchcode cannot be easily copied, reproduced or modified. Compared to optical technologies Touchcode is printed underneath the artwork of the item and not visible to the eye. Also, because Touchcode works by direct contact on the screen of a smart device, the product has to be in-hand to create the interaction. Creating the need to purchase/acquire the product to get the interaction, and creating stronger and more interesting product interaction for the consumer.
Touchcode is hard to copy or modify. Compared to optical techniques Touchcode cannot be simply copied, because the Touchcode isn’t visible. Furthermore the technology grants a higher data privacy than RFID or chip cards since it is impossible to transfer data without the knowledge of the user. As Touchcode works by a direct placement on the screen of a multitouch device, a data transmission is only possible by a conscious decision of the consumer to use Touchcode.
Yes, one code can be used for different experiences. Even different interactions with the same product for different platforms (app vs Website). The content triggered by Touchcode can be changed any time, targeted by region, updated on a certain date, etc.
Touchcode can be either read within an app or mobile website (web app). We provide the necessary software development kit (SDK) to our client to enable them to integrate Touchcode into their own applications.
Compared to other technologies like QR Codes, optical recognition and even NFC or RFID, Touchcode offers an interactive experience on smart device screens. Items using Touchcode can unlock exclusive content, but also provide interactive experiences within apps or websites in gaming experiences, collectibility, etc.
Touchcode can be printed with various common printing methods such as flexo, offset, screen, gravure etc. T+ink will either suggest a print partner or work with a customer’s preferred vendor via a print certification.
Touchcode offers an interactive experience where the consumer is touching your product to their device to unlock the content.
Touchcode campaigns are set up by T+ink’s software team to expire only when directed to by our customers. The physical product will remain enabled once the Touchcode pattern is printed, and the digital interaction can be kept live for as long as needed.
Touchcode can be printed on paper, cardboard, film or label materials and some plastics.
Touchcode was made to keep the barriers for adoption at the lowest level. We are offering a licensing model for the technology. After entering a licensing agreement or project contract, we will deliver the necessary software to the customer and support as well as any corresponding documentation to aid in implementing the technology into your website/app. A certified printing plant will produce Touchcode or T+ink can deliver the printed products through our existing supply chain.
